The Testimony of Pastor Sushil Bhatta From Priest to Pastor<\/p>\n
Born into a traditional Hindu priestly family in the Baitadi district of Nepal, my life seemed predestined for a specific religious path. However, God had a different plan. In January 2000, while I was just 17 and finishing high school, the Holy Spirit reached me through a Gospel organization. In a place where there were no churches, God used a Bible tract and a correspondence course to open my eyes. Despite my background, I recognized Jesus Christ as my Savior.<\/p>\n
Following Jesus came with immediate challenges. After completing a one-week discipleship training and receiving water baptism, my family\u2014deeply rooted in their Hindu traditions\u2014expressed great unhappiness. I found myself in a very difficult situation at home, facing the weight of social and familial pressure. Yet, this “desert experience” only made me hungrier for the Word of God.<\/p>\n
Driven by a desire to know Christ more deeply, I moved to the capital city to attend the Nepal Theological Seminary. I spent three years in intensive study, earning my Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.). This period was not just about academic learning, but about preparing my heart for the mission fields of Nepal.<\/p>\n
God\u2019s faithfulness has been the anchor of my life for over two decades. I have seen the “impossible” become possible:<\/p>\n
Family Restoration: After 12 years of prayer and waiting, God opened the door for my own brother to believe in Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
Evangelism: I have traveled through more than 300 villages, using the Jesus Film to introduce thousands to the Gospel.<\/p>\n
Church Planting: From Attariya to Dhangadhi and back to Kathmandu, I have been privileged to plant churches and baptize over 200 believers.<\/p>\n
Today, many of those I mentored are serving as pastors and Bible teachers, continuing the cycle of the Great Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
