Sir, what do you remember being the happiest in life?

When Indian billionaire Ratan Tata was asked by a radio host in a telephone interview — Sir, what do you remember being the happiest in life?

Ratan Tata said — I have gone through four stages of happiness in life, and after these four stages I could understand the meaning of happiness.

The first step was to earn money and wealth. But at this stage I could not find the happiness I wanted.

After that, in the second step, he added the expensive and precious salmon that he liked, and completed the hobby. But I understood that the effect of this thing is also temporary and the shine of precious things does not last for long.

Then the third phase was to get a big project. At that time, he got a project to supply diesel to India and Africa. I also owned the largest steel factory in India and Asia. But even here I could not find happiness as I thought.

The fourth step was when a friend of mine asked me to buy a wheelchair for disabled children. At the request of a friend, I immediately bought wheelchairs.

But the friend asked me to go with him and distribute the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and went with him. There I gave wheelchairs to these children with my own hands. I saw a strange glow of happiness on the faces of those children. I saw them all in wheelchairs, moving around and having fun.

I felt really happy inside.

When the program was over and I was about to turn back, a child grabbed my leg. I slowly tried to let go of my leg, but the child looked at my face and kept holding my leg. I leaned over and asked the child — do you need anything else?

This guy’s answer not only shocked me, but also completely changed my outlook on life.

This child said — “I want to remember your face so that when I see you in heaven, I will recognize you and thank you once again.” By Tulsi shrestha
